Siesta Beach: Thursday, May 7 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Nokomis Beach: Thursday, May 7 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Venice Beach: Friday, May 8 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

North Jetty Fish Camp: Monday, May 11 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
Commercial Recreation and Tour Operator Program - Commercial Recreation and Tour Operator (CRTO) programs will resume at Turtle Beach Park and Ted Sperling Nature Park effective Saturday, May 9. Only rentals (no tours) are permitted at this time.
R/C Squadron - Beginning Wednesday, May 6 at 9 a.m., the R/C Squadron at Rothenbach Park and the R/C Fliers of Venice at the Central County Solid Waste Complex will once again be able to take to the skies! The opening will be limited to club members only. At this time, no visitors or guests are permitted. We are asking all pilots to maintain Social Distancing guidelines.
Beach Access - Parking is now available at county-owned beaches. With other coastal communities reopening their beaches, there's less of a concern of an influx of out-of-county beachgoers.
Chairs, coolers and canopies are also allowed, but we are asking all beachgoers to maintain social distancing and keep groups to 10 or less.
Playgrounds, amenities and picnic shelters will remain closed. These areas will be opened as part of Phase 3 of beach reopening. Restrooms are open. Our continued focus is on the safety of our employees and citizens.
Courts - The county has opened pickleball and tennis courts.
Sarasota County has implemented a phased activation for tennis and pickleball courts consistent with
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and direction from the Florida Governor's "Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step" Recovery Plan. Tennis and pickleball courts are available for use with the following guidelines and restrictions:
- One-hour maximum time frame of use per match.
- Those waiting for the courts to open must remain 6 feet apart.
- Maintain social distancing in all areas off the courts and keep groups to 10 or less and 6 feet apart.
All court activity and compliance will be monitored by Sarasota County
Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources staff.
Turtle Beach Campground - Turtle Beach Campground will reopen Monday, May 18 and will operate at roughly 50 percent occupancy through May 31 and possibly longer. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for reservations as online booking is currently disabled.
Dog Parks - All Sarasota County dog parks will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday, May 11. We ask all dog owners to maintain social distancing and keep groups to 10 or less and 6 feet apart.
The county is researching and looking at opportunities to open some additional amenities including but not limited to playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts. Stay tuned!
As of now, all recreation centers, playgrounds, basketball courts and volleyball courts have been temporarily closed.
