Single-Stream Recycling Cart Size Exchange Request
THIS FORM SHOULD ONLY BE USED TO REQUEST A CART SIZE EXCHANGE.
Residents living in unincorporated Sarasota County may submit a one-time request to exchange their recycling cart for a smaller* (35 gallon) or larger (65 gallon or 95 gallon) recycling cart by completing the cart exchange request form.
Requests are not being accepted for additional carts.
Residents that do not currently have a recycling cart should contact Waste Management at 941-493-4100 to request delivery.
GUIDELINES FOR EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Exchange requests will be accepted beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 6 through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 5.
Residents should continue using their current county issued cart until the exchange can be made.
Requests will be filled by Waste Management based on availability and exchanges are tentatively set to begin the week of May 4 dependent upon the guidance from state and local officials at the time. NOTE: delivery start date subject to change. Once delivery service begins, it could take up to 2-3 weeks to fulfill requests based on the volume of requests received.
Residents must have a Sarasota County issued cart at their residence to exchange.
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR CART FOR EXCHANGE DAY
Carts must be out for service on your regular collection day in order for the exchange to take place.
Waste Management will empty your existing cart during regular service hours.
Carts should remain curbside through the anticipated exchange day.
Cart exchange hours are 6 a.m.-8 p.m.
Exchange program is outbound delivery only. Residents should not bring their carts to a Sarasota County facility to trade them out - Sarasota County facilities do not have any carts in inventory.
*The capacity of the 35 gallon cart is less than two of the old recycling bins. All recyclable items must fit inside the cart. Items left outside the cart (i.e. excess cardboard) will not be collected.
If you live in unincorporated Sarasota County and did not receive a new cart for recycling, or your cart is broken, contact Waste Management at 941-493-4100.
Will I be billed for the new cart?
No. The cost of the cart is included in your annual non ad-valorem assessment.
Will residents also receive a cart for trash?
No. At this time, carts are only being provided for recycling.
What if something spills in my cart?
It is the 北京快三owner's responsibility to keep their recycling cart clean. If something spills in the cart, it is recommended to clean it out so that future items placed in the cart do not become contaminated and to detract from flies or animals.
Can I put compostable items in my recycling container?
No. Only place items accepted by Sarasota County's recycling program in the cart.
